When it comes to skin care I am always choosing lotions and oils that make my skin soft, glowy, and smooth! Today I’m going to share with you my new found miracle oil that will cost you less than $10! It’s coconut oil! I have always heard people saying this oil does amazing things for you whether you are cooking with it or beautifying with it! Here’s some of my favorite uses for it!

Cooking

I have used it for cooking before, and its great! If you are using it for cooking I recommend not using it for higher heat dishes. Low to medium heat on the stove is perfect! It is also perfect for cooking items in the oven.

Hair

As a beauty product, I tried it on my hair and skin. I’ll be honest, it did help my hair have more shine and moisture, but i would not use it more than once a week or a couple times a month! It’s a heavy mask! If you do use it on your hair make sure its melted down to its liquid form (pop a couple spoonfuls in the microwave for about 20 seconds in a dish) and use a moderate amount keeping to the mid shaft to ends. Leave it on your hair for about 5-10 min and wash out with shampoo.

Skin

Now, my FAVORITE way to use coconut oil is on my skin! I seriously believe it made my skin so soft and so smooth after I used it! I applied it to my skin in the shower and it was amazing (again, pop a couple spoonfuls in the microwave for about 20 seconds in a dish)! I washed my skin with soap, rinsed, and then applied the oil to my entire body and let it sit for a few minutes. Then, I shaved my legs and arm pits WITH the coconut oil still on my skin! It also works as a shaving cream! After I had shaved I rinsed the excess coconut oil off my body and thats it! Get ready for smooth glowing skin!

I purchased my coconut oil from Trader Joe’s and it was less than $6! But, you can find coconut oil at any grocery store.

Let me know if you try this or have tried coconut oil as a beauty product! I’d love to hear from you!
